1. If you’re using the prepaid card your cash isn’t lent out so you’re effectively using 100pc reserve banking, which might appeal from the perspective of avoiding creating credit risks for the economy or avoiding involvement in usury. Deposits in their current accounts are lent but more is held in cash than in a regular bank, I think.
